Second official language

Swedish or Finnish (depending on your language of schooling). If Nordic Philology is your minor (basic studies at the least), you don't have to take these courses. If you have been given exemption from Swedish in comprehensive school, you can apply to the faculty for it in your university studies. If your schooling language is not Finnish or Swedish, you have to take 5 ECTS worth of courses in another foreign language.

Written and oral communication skills

Finnish. If Finnish is your minor (basic studies at the least), you don't have to take this course. If your mother language is not Finnish or Swedish and your skills in Finnish are not sufficient (A2 level), the faculty may give you exemption from the course. However, you have to take courses of Finnish as a second language.

Maturity test

Those whose schooling language is Finnish or Swedish will write the maturity test in that language, and the linguistic form will be checked. If your schooling language is not Finnish or Swedish, your faculty will decide the language of the maturity test. In this case, the linguistic form will not be checked.
